I have too many craft supplies, of course. I need to either use the stuff up, sell, toss or otherwise cull this collection down A LOT.
I have been trying to think what I have to do/get rid of/cull next? And I don’t know. I have fabric at a seamstress currently to turn into \ throws. I don’t need more, those will do us year round, with the one my MIL made.
So, then what? I have pillow forms, fabric, beads, yarn, basketry material, and paper crafting supplies.
The obvious thing to use some of that up would be to do the knit the pillow covers project. The not so obvious thing is whether I have yarn in the right sort of colors/textures for the living room. That I do NOT know, I’ll have to look.
After that project and making myself a new hat. (Remember this? I decided to make myself another hat.) I have no idea how much yarn I’ll have left, how many pillow forms I’ll still, and what to do with what I DO?
I also have no ideas about the rest of it. I need to work harder to find projects or just decide to get rid of the stuff, in quantity!
Okay I sorted. I have enough, with an additional skien or two, to make pillow covers. One or maybe two? We’ll see. I also seem to have enough to make another hat. After that? I have a bin full of yarn, most of it with no particular use in mind. The one exception is the rug which was being knit/crotched for the bathroom, the one that takes about an hour to get 1/4 of the way around and 1/4″ thick per row. In other words? To make that rug takes a LARGE amount of time/effort, which is why it got dropped to begin with. I either need to ‘fess up and admit I won’t ever finish it OR I need to actually finish it. Storing the tools and supplies and 1/2 finished rug just is dumb!

I’ve been working on clearing up the living room. At the moment, there’s boxes in there for the flea market next month, boxes which were brought in from the storage to go through, books to go to the new book booth, books being donated to the bookstore in Maine, etc. It’s a mess.
Because I have new rugs coming, some of which are for the living room, where the others are for the kitchen, I started clearing out the living room this morning. Fine, it’s the usual cull, clean, move it over there because there’s no room here, etc. No problem. I move, cull, sort, trash, and clean the space where what I’ve been working on has resided. This is work with a vac, otherwise the dust gets to me too much.

Battery ran out on the vac. Went to charge it, the charger already had a battery being charged. Hm…what to do next?
I cleaned the outside of the vac, hose and all — I spent about 5 minutes cleaning the wired hose for the vacuum cleaner.
Yep, I’m becoming a fanatic, sigh. Oh well, I always have gone from one extreme to the other before I settled down into sanity. Let’s hope the swing into fanatic cleanliness and out to reasonable cleanliness is a short trip!

Worked on the attic today for a bit. Found a box which no doubt came out of DH’s office when it closed down — at the company who moved us here, 20+ years ago. This box was in the MIDDLE of the attic, on the floor, so it was behind and under everything else, and had been missed, multiple times no doubt! 90+% of it went to the dump’s recycle bin this afternoon.
Later on, I started going through a bin of my papers, some of which were as old, or older (and business related). They went. I got to near the bottom of the box and found things which needed to be filed, but not tossed, they were that current. I quit.
That said? We recycled 100+ or probably more like 300 pieces of paper today, including catalogs, magazines, sales receipts, etc.,
I talked to DH about taking vacation between Christmas & New Years’, with the idea that we do this or something like it, at least once in that time. It all helps — and tomorrow? Tomorrow’s another day to tackle more.
The bath mat is currently
6.5″ 7.25 wide. I changed out one of the colors at 6″. Will change another when I get to 12″. That’s 20 17 rows from now… each row is .25″. Now you know why I will NEVER make another of these, like this! (Updated 11/26)

Having finally gotten the wood pile work off the list, it really needs to be added again, daily for quite some time. However, that makes it a “to do” list item, rather than one of my daily 5 or 6!
Today’s list won’t be done first thing this morning, I have something else in process, and it will delay matters.
- I need to clear stuff from my car and run a vac through at least part of it! Deferred until Tuesday; it’s dark out there now!
- Work on the fabric storage again: cull and neaten it up.
Harvest the kale. 7 p.m. There’s more, but the first batch has been cut.
- Move the paint as DH and I discussed. See #1
- Clean out the underdeck storage. See #1
- Work on the sewing table.
Lest you think I’m just goofing off here. . . this morning I had a variety of other household things which needed to be done. Then I met DH for lunch, something we rarely do, but we’ve been heads-down working so we wanted a break. Then I tried to go to antique stores, since I outside my normal circuit. I knew where one was, found another new to me, but both were closed.
Came home, worked on cleaning out my car (but didn’t get it clean enough to vac) and then went off to my tutoring job. Came home, helped DH, and harvested kale.
I have to make dinner yet and clean up breakfast/lunch remains, then whatever mess dinner creates too.
